Resident Evil: The Better You Kill Zombies The More They Live.

Problem with Zombies today in Hollywood is in that the better you kill them the more they live. If there is movie about killing some green monster-like creatures celebrating success at box office it is absolutely reasonable to expect its sequel to appear next year. After World World Z proved Brad Pitt's status of Hollywood's financial good luck guarantee, producers are ready to start next movie transforming project into series. And Zombie invasion will strike again. Once the same story had already happened with Resident Evil starring Milla Jovovich.

Lone Ranger: Another Disney Movie becomes financial disaster.


New Disney studio movie Lone Ranger starring Johnny Depp suffers enourmous financial disaster as its box office is only $131m which is not impressive sum when compared to its $215m budget. Year before it was $250m budget John Carter movie seeing itself in similar situation. Does it seem like tendention or is it only temporary problem for Disney studio?
Problem is that now it seems that legendary studio which emerged in 1930's depression time is not what it was before. What was always the soul of Disney? Their animation and adventure movies. but first of all animation. And their last successful animation was Lion King. They do not make animated features anymore. All of their animated features are Pixar's. In last decade of 90's they missed the train called 3d animation. And all industry appeared to be battle of Pixar with DreamWorks. Than Disney just bought Pixar from Steve Jobs who appeared to be better artistic director than Disney leaders.

After Earth: First Will Smith's Big Movie of Decade Not To Become Blockbuster.

From the very beginning of its way through world's theaters new sci-fi with the most successful  (in terms of box office) Hollywood actor Will Smith - After Earth was suffering disaster. Exactly like big space ship hit by the asteroid. Now, when its weekend grasp in US  is less than million dollar, it becomes evident that movie may become commercially the most unsuccessful Will Smith's movie of recent decade. And it won't became international blockbuster. To do so movie needs to collect at least 80 million more, which now seems impossible. And also Fox studio had just claimed that Independence Day II will be filmed without participation of Smith.

Snow White and Lincoln: Four Movies about Two Characters.

Recent movie season resulted multiple quantity devoted to multiple quantity of characters. Two movies (one by Spielberg and one by Bekmambetov) about Lincoln, sixteenth president of United States. And also two movies about Snow White. Lincoln movie (by Spielberg) provided Day-Lewis with his third Academy Award. And snow White movies gave more of stardom to Kristen Stewart and to Lily Collins.

Sam Mendes will not return (to James Bond movie)


Game begins when game ends. As recent Bond movie went to screen MGM started preparations for next one, movie number 24. Despite rumours which circulated in media Sam Mendes declared that he will not direct one more James Bond movie. Studio will need to find new filmmaker. And not only filmmaker, some positions became vacant in Bond movie squad.

Lorax beats John Carter in US Box Office

Two films released in last weeks clashed in battle not only with marsian enemies and environmental pollution, but also with themselves. And Lorax movie wich looked to be more modest one wins at that moment. Lorax movie collected more them $70m during it's first weekend, while John Carter had only $30m. When in deed Carter has a budget of approximately $250m compared to Lorax's $70m as estimated.
