Lost Generation: Why Wizard Boys do not become Mature Movie Stars immediately.

Harry Potter series made Daniel Radcliffe a world recognized star, but first of all, star of kids-and-teens movies. And to become a senior star he needs to do something since there is no very promising projects on his acting career's horizon. It is not time to make conclusions on his future, but from other stories which happened with male teen stars before we know that it is not always that easy to transform from kid star to grown-up celebrity.

Radcliffe's salary grew while his participation in HP project, during 10 years from 1 to 33 million dollar. And that was record breaking amount for actor of that age, but now for him it is not that easy to find an interesting project for which he will be payed what he was earning for first HP movies. And his case is not the only one in line.

Earlier Haley Joel Osment rised to the stardom in very sweet age, being payed with 7-digits sums for single role. He was lucky to  perform as little Forrest Gump for Academy Award winning movie by the same name in the beggining of his career.

Even earlier Maculay Culkin was payed even more money and attention. But after reaching peak of succes in 1994 he could never repeat it. Both Culkin and Osment had parts in movies after teen age, but not a succes like that.

And it does seem to be only boys problem, because usually girls do well. If Culkin and Osment were the most famous boys of 90s than it was Natalie Portman who probably was most famous girl. But her teen part in Luc Besson's Leon movie didn't prevent her future career. She made herself recognized as one of the best actresses of the generation with parts in movies like Goya's Ghosts, The Other Boleyn Girl and Black Swan on one side, and was named by Forbes magazine the most profitable actress on the other.

There is no need that there is a many actresses who had no fame but had some interesrting parts in their teens who became stars. Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson  begun careers around 10 and entered the academy atound 20, being outstanding actresses and world recognizable sex-symbols at that age. On the otherside Brad Pitt first in lifetime gained 7-digit contract for film symbolistic called Seven, released in 1995 when he was over 30. And Johhny Depp in teens planed to be Rock Star like Keith Richards or Mick Jagger, having  his first movie released in 1984, when he was 21, absolutely adult then.

And there is almost no doubt that teen stars of ourdays like Elle Fanning, Hailee Steinfeld, and Chloe Grace will grow to be good actresses. Especially Chloe Grace Moretz at sweet 16 she acts like grown-up actress, professionally grown-up. someone who knows what to do, the trick and the method.

And look at Hermione. we heard that she doesn't want to be an actress after performing the same thing for eight times. We know that she earned with HP movies enough to relax for lifetime. We understand that she can easily benefit fron model career and may spend time running charity foundation or/and designer clothes line.

That is also true tha she appeared in some noticeable movies and what is more important performed in 2012 as biblical Ila for Darren Aronofsky's Noah project with Russel Crow, which will be released in 2014. Aronofsky is that same director who collaborated with Potman to create Academy Award-winning part of Nina for Black Swan movie. And there is at least three projects with her participation to be released in 2013.

But someone like Daniel Radcliffe now should make some effort to prove to filmmakers that he is more than just wizard boy with magic spells that do not work anymore, because his star career is not yet over.
