Recent part of Fast and Furious series is going to establish its new US box office record which undoubtedly means that producers will be interested in making one more movie, seventh on count.
Though it is not for sure that sixth movie will overcome international record by the previous part which is estimated as $628m, it most probably will make more money in US box office. When first movie of the series was released most of it money (144 out of $207m) were collected at Hollywood homelands. But in recent decade all the mass Hollywood production became more oriented for European market and for markets of developing countries. And since third movie F&F was making most of its money abroad. And recent movie had overcome 207m only in US and going to get more than 209, which is previous record.
Frankly speaking, fast and furious is not in the same line of such projects as Black Swan or Great Gatsby by its quality. It is quite typical Hollywood mass production action. That is why it can indicate general trends of modern world movie business. Franchise was able to maintain its positions in conditions of growing international box offices and growing production budgets. Its total cost of moviemaking increased since its beginning at least twice. and it won't be surprise if guys will again go to make their one more 'very final job' to get enough money to finish.
