According to recent news MGM studio is ready to support Lara Croft reboot project. As long as two years ago GK films bought rights for franchise, but future of new Tomb Raider movie is still undefined. This time at least we know that involving MGM means potentially bringing money of Sony/Columbia (to which MGM belongs) and may be creating begining titles in style of James Bond series. But for Wonder Woman project future is even more doubtful. She will hardly appear in her own movie and may be will in justice league project. Only problem that recent DC studio movies (except Batman trilogy) are far not so successful as Marvel series and guys themselves do not seem to be sure of producing competitor to Avengers in nearest time possible. And also, does it all means that in future we will have less of sexy warrior girls movies than in first decade of 21st century?
Lara Croft reboot is a project existing on backstage of hollywood since Angelina Jolie left Tomb Raider series after Cradle of Life's box office failure. But for Wonder Woman it all even worse. Her appearances are limited to television only. Sometimes it looks like that no one still doesn't know what to do with this project exactly. First of all they need to find actress who can became new great sex-symbol of modern movie industry. In the begining of century there is at least three actresses who portrayed Hollywood super woman type for many times. They are Angelina Joile, Milla Jovavich and Kate Beckinsale. But they all are older than 30, and there is no one from younger generation who can be compared with them. It is hardly lack of sport-shaped beauties in Hollywood, but do studios want to find them?
Most notable highly paid young actresses of today who performed warrior girls are Kristen Stewart and Jennifer Lawrence. They both have 8-digits dollar contracts and was names the hottest woman in business by some movie organizations, but also true that they have looks a bit different than this of Angelina Jolie in their age. Possibly the best way to find actress for Tomb Raider or for Wonder Woman movie is to find some one new in town who will fit perfectly. But another way is to look for someone who had an expierence of the kind. If this list will be created there should be undoubtedly inclusion of female stars like Jamie Chung, Malin Akerman, Olivia Wilde, Abbie Cornish, Scarlett Johansson, Adrianne Palicki, Zoe Saldana and Kristen Stewart. They performed some female action heroes with less impact on pop culture than the influence of Lara Croft, but with features which fit the Hollywood Warrior Woman type. And only future will show will be there less of sexy warriors or there will be some one to be as good action sex-symbol as Angelina Jolie.
