Wizard of the Oz beats Giant Slayer in US box office

Two fairy-tale movies found themselves to be major competitors for cinema audience in month of march. And if Giant Slayer was not able to deal with it's giant budget, then for creators of new Oz movie yellow bricks turned to be golden.

Reasons of why this or that promising movie failed to be great box office success are hardly can be found easily. But at least it is possible to observe that if Oz, Great and Powerful represents movie classically rendered as kids fairy-tale  with its bright colours and funny characters than Jack the Giant Slayer is full of monstrous creatures and dark, which makes it a little more like horror film. Another advantage is bigger quantity of stars on the side of Oz movie. It stands like Ewan McGregor  (in Giant Slayer movie) versus Academy Award nominees James Franco, Michelle Williams, Academy Award winning actress Rachel Weisz and Golden globe nominee Mila Kunis in addition.

Disney had alredy claimed that studio is ready to make one more movie about Emerald City and its fantastic habitants. And there is certain reason for such decision. With budget estimated as $215m, movie had already collected $300m in the world cinema box office.
