Veronica Mars movie was financed by fans

Warner studio asked fans of Veronica Mars TV series to fund feature movie of the same name which can appear on the screens in future. Two million dollar needed was found in ten hours.

Usually crowd funding is used when some one has good idea, but do not have money to convert it in real project. But it is not the case of Warner bros, because they do have some money. May be it is just because they are not sure in project as in future financial success. But on the other side two million is not giant sum for contemporary movie industry and it is not enough to produce even teen comedy, so may be studio also wanted to involve web audience through the kickstarter platform and make them invest even more of their emotions than money into the project. Nearest future may show can Kristen Bell's and Veronaca Mars' success gained on TV be repeated in big movie industry.
