Two films released in last weeks clashed in battle not only with marsian enemies and environmental pollution, but also with themselves. And Lorax movie wich looked to be more modest one wins at that moment. Lorax movie collected more them $70m during it's first weekend, while John Carter had only $30m. When in deed Carter has a budget of approximately $250m compared to Lorax's $70m as estimated.
Also Lorax has a good chances to have a great international BO. Thanks to Danny DeVito who made a difficult work, providing his character with many foreign voices. Though, actor never learned any foreign language, he voiced Lorax on French, German, Russian, Spainish languages. Man who has three kids and cares about environmental problems in world was really good choice for the part.
Lorax had already payed off to creators from Universal. But, of course, John Carter will also be success with 99% probability for Disney studio. It's just matter of time.
